Big-D Heavy Industrial is looking for an Equipment Operator to join our growing team. We are looking for a skilled and safety focused Heavy Equipment Operator who can operate a variety of large equipment and support warehouse/yard operations when not in the seat. This role is ideal for someone who is reliable, team‑oriented, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment.
Requirements
- Can safely operate the following equipment:
- 55,000 lb forklift
- 12,000 lb telehandler
- 75,000 lb. excavator
- Perform daily inspections, basic maintenance checks, and proper documentation for all operated equipment.
- Assist warehouse personnel with yard and warehouse tasks when equipment operation is not required, including:
- Material handling
- Organizing and staging inventory
- General yard upkeep
- Loading/unloading materials
- Follow all company safety procedures, policies, and equipment guidelines.
- Work collaboratively with the warehouse and operations teams to support daily workflow.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating heavy equipment, including large forklifts, telehandlers, and excavators.
- Ability to safely lift and move materials as needed in the yard/warehouse.
- Strong awareness of safety standards and commitment to safe work practices.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to assist where needed.
- Valid certifications (if applicable) are a plus
