What are the responsibilities and job description for the Family and Volunteer Interviewer (Staten Island, NY) position at Big Brother Big Sister?

JOB SUMMARY:
BBBS of NYC seeks a part-time Interviewer, who will assist n the family and volunteer screening processes. The individual will conduct family and volunteer interviews and complete clinical assessments to assess their appropriateness for programming. Must be flexible to work evenings and one Saturday a month as well as interview at our Staten Island office.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct thorough interviews of applicants and assess their eligibility and suitability to become a mentor/mentee within the Community-Based program.
- Write clinical assessments and review for recommendation to Program
- Provide applicants with BBBS of NYC program-related information and educate them on program structure
- Follow BBBS of NYC child safety guidelines, work closely with our Child Safety Officer, and make required reports and referrals as needed
- Connect to supervisors via email, phone and in-person for follow up questions and reports, as needed
- Attend quarterly group supervision meetings for ongoing training and support
- Provide a self-built schedule each month, offering a minimum of 10 interview slots
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Belief in the power of mentoring
- Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling, Social Services or Social Work required
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience conducting interviews and performing clinical assessments
- Strong clinical interviewing, assessment writing skills, and knowledge of Microsoft Office 2016
