Reserve Security Officer (Part-Time/On-Call)
Reserve Security Officers employed by Big Bend Security are part-time, non-exempt employees who serve on a standby list for temporary or short-notice assignments. Members are added to a Signal group chat where new shifts and opportunities are announced. Reserve Security Officers are not guaranteed a minimum number of work hours, but may be contacted to fill shifts due to employee absence, special events, or new contract needs.
Reserve Officers are given priority for full-time openings and receive bonus pay for shifts accepted within 24 hours of notice.
Pay & Incentives
- Base Pay $16/hour
- Short-notice Bonus: $4/hour for any shift accepted within 24 hours of notice
- Opportunities for promotion into regular full-time positions as they become available
Responsibilities
- Maintain a professional and visible presence on assigned sites
- Patrol property, monitor activity, and ensure site safety
- Complete clear, detailed reports of any incidents or observations
- Represent Big Bend Security with integrity and courtesy at all times
- Abide by Big Bend Security policies and procedures
Minimum Qualifications
- 18 years of age or older for Level II (Unarmed)
- 21 years of age or older for Level III (Armed)
- Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Must pass a background check and drug screening
- Must own a smartphone capable of running the Signal app for company communications
Licensing Assistance
If you don't currently have a Texas security license, we can help you get licensed. Big Bend Security can assist qualified applicants in obtaining both:
- Level II (Unarmed) Security License, and
- Level III (Armed) Security License
