Dedicated to showing "New York City through the eyes of a New Yorker," the greeter service connects visitors with knowledgeable and enthusiastic volunteers who proudly show neighborhoods throughout the city.
In addition to the volunteer greeters who meet visitors, volunteers also play key roles in the Big Apple Greeter office.
About The Position

As the Online Auction Organizer, you will work closely with the Executive Director, interact with the Board of Directors, and provide critical contributions to make the project a success.

About The Position
Big Apple Greeter seeks an Online Auction Organizer to organize and launch this new fundraising program for us.
As the Online Auction Organizer, you will work closely with the Executive Director, interact with the Board of Directors, and provide critical contributions to make the project a success.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate and suggest to the Executive Director the best online auction software for Big Apple Greeter
- Oversee the auction from launch to follow-up
- Work with the Board and Executive Director to gather and select auction items
- Design and implement an auction marketing campaign to appropriate audiences
- Prior online auction experience a plus.
- Prior experience evaluating software programs a plus.
- Minimum 10 hours per week over 2 days per week.
- You must be willing to work in our office downtown for several months upon starting
- Passion for working in the nonprofit sector and alignment with our mission.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Join our supportive and inclusive volunteer team culture in our beautiful office on the 23 rd floor in lower Manhattan.
- We are two full-time paid staff and 10 regularly scheduled part-time office volunteers, plus 200 volunteer Greeters.
- Learn about New York City and key principles of successful volunteer engagement.
- Work closely with our Executive Director and Director of Programs & Volunteers.
