Duties
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and landscaping equipment such as mowers, trimmers, blowers, and edgers to maintain lawns and gardens.
- Perform mowing, edging, trimming, pruning, and tree care to ensure healthy growth and aesthetic appeal.
- Conduct landscape maintenance tasks including planting, watering, fertilizing, aerating, and mulching beds.
- Use irrigation systems to water landscapes efficiently and troubleshoot issues as needed.
- Assist with hardscape projects such as installing pathways or retaining walls under supervision.
- Maintain equipment by performing routine inspections, cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs.
- Support snow plowing operations during winter months to ensure safe access for clients and community areas.
- Collaborate with team members on larger projects involving excavation or tree trimming to ensure safety and quality standards are met.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge for operating and maintaining landscaping machinery and hand tools.
- Proven experience in lawn care, landscape maintenance, or gardening is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of horticulture principles and plant health care practices.
- Ability to operate power tools safely and efficiently in various outdoor conditions.
- Familiarity with excavation equipment such as mini excavators or skid steers is a plus.
- Experience with tree care including trimming, pruning, or removal techniques.
- Basic understanding of irrigation systems and troubleshooting common issues.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting heavy materials, bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
