Job Summary
The Financial Controller is responsible for overseeing all financial and accounting operations of the company. This role ensures accuracy in financial reporting, compliance with statutory regulations, effective internal controls, and sound financial management to support strategic business objectives. The Financial Controller will lead the finance team, manage budgeting and forecasting processes, and provide insights that drive business performance.
Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Management & Reporting
- Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with [GAAP/IFRS/local standards].
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting for management and external stakeholders.
- Monitor, analyze, and interpret financial data to support strategic decisions.
- Manage consolidation of accounts across subsidiaries (if applicable).
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Lead the annual budgeting process and coordinate periodic reforecasts.
- Develop financial models to support business planning and performance evaluation.
- Identify trends, risks, and opportunities to inform management decisions.
Internal Controls & Compliance
- Establish and maintain robust internal control systems to safeguard company assets.
- Ensure compliance with tax, audit, and financial regulations.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies.
- Review and implement accounting policies and procedures to ensure best practices.
Cash Flow & Treasury Management
- Oversee cash flow management, including working capital optimization.
- Manage banking relationships and financing arrangements.
- Approve payments and monitor liquidity requirements.
Team Leadership
- Supervise, mentor, and develop finance team members.
- Foster a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with other departments to improve financial understanding and performance.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Professional accounting qualification (CPA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
- [5–10] years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including at least [3–5] years in a senior or supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards.
- Proven experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills.
