Position Overview:
Chagee is seeking a detail-oriented and governance-driven Finance Controller to oversee financial reporting, accounting operations, and internal controls across North America. This role will ensure the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of financial statements while supporting business scalability and audit readiness. The ideal candidate has deep accounting expertise, strong leadership capabilities, and experience operating in a fast-paced, multi-entity retail or F&B environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes in accordance with local GAAP and group financial reporting standards.
• Oversee general ledger accuracy, account reconciliations, journal entries, and consolidation activities for U.S. and Canada entities.
• Ensure compliance with tax, statutory, and regulatory requirements, coordinating with internal teams and external advisors.
• Establish and maintain strong internal controls and accounting policies in alignment with global finance standards.
• Partner with FP&A to support variance analysis, reporting packages, and financial planning alignment.
• Manage external audits, tax filings, and regulatory submissions; serve as key contact for auditors and tax consultants.
• Oversee fixed asset accounting, lease accounting, and inventory cost tracking.
• Support system implementation and finance process improvements to drive automation, accuracy, and scalability.
• Coordinate intercompany transactions and transfer pricing with global finance and group entities.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team to ensure timely and accurate financial operations.
Qualifications:
• 8–10 years of progressive accounting and controllership experience, preferably in retail, F&B, or multi-location businesses.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP; experience with IFRS and Canadian GAAP is a plus.
• CPA certification required; public accounting background strongly preferred.
• Proven experience managing audits, tax compliance, and financial reporting for multi-entity organizations.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and analytical skills.
• Experience with accounting systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle) and proficiency in Excel.
• Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Master’s degree a plus.
