Responsibilities
- Lead hardware engineering and integration teams responsible for automated workcell builds.
- Establish and enforce standards for:
- Mechanical designs and automation tables
- Electrical systems and panel layouts
- Cabling and cable management
- Controls architecture
- Workcell layouts and integration practices
- Drive consistency, quality, and scalability across all hardware deployments.
- Oversee physical build, integration, testing, and deployment readiness of automation systems.
- Partner with Software Engineering, Applications Science, Procurement, Logistics, Project Management, Quality and Customer teams to support successful project execution.
- Develop reusable hardware platforms and standardized subsystem designs.
- Manage vendor, OEM, and contract manufacturing relationships.
- Improve engineering processes, documentation, BOM management, and configuration control.
- Support long-term hardware productization and manufacturing strategies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Systems Engineering or related field.
- 10 years of experience in automation, robotics, or complex electro-mechanical systems.
- Hands‑on experience with automated systems in GxP environments — integrating robotics, liquid handlers, sensors, and MES/LIMS with hardware platforms.
- Deep understanding of pharma automation standards — GAMP 5, 21 CFR Part 11, Annex 11, data integrity (ALCOA ).
- 5 years leading engineering or integration teams.
- Strong experience with:
- Automation hardware systems
- Electrical and mechanical integration
- Industrial controls and cabling
- Manufacturing and system assembly
- Experience establishing engineering standards and scalable design practices.
- Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Experience in laboratory automation or life sciences.
- Experience with robotic workcells and integrated automation systems.
- Familiarity with regulated environments and contract manufacturing.
