The manager of operations is responsible for overseeing all aspects of a production process, ensuring that products are created safely, efficiently, and of the highest quality.
This position will play a pivotal role in planning, coordinating, and directing activities that have a direct bearing on the manufacturing of our Lighters.
The Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Plan, organize, direct and manage day-to-day operations to exceed customers' expectations
- Maintain high quality standards, increase production capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs
- Own the production output, product quality and on-time shipping; ensure customer commitments are met
- Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to achieve optimal results
- Strategic planning, plant level goals into multi-year roadmaps that align with corporate strategy
- Implement strategies aligned with senior management's strategic manufacturing initiatives
- P&L and budgeting ownership, demonstrate impact on cost, revenue, and capital returns
- Ensure adherence to quality, health, safety, legal and quality guidelines
- Strong communication and change management skills
- Monitor operations and initiate corrective actions as needed
- Collect and analyze data to identify waste, overtime, and efficiency opportunities
- Implement continuous improvements to manufacturing processes and procedures
- Develop systems and processes to track and optimize productivity, standards, metrics and performance targets
- Ability to implement and monitor productivity metrics, standard work, and visual management
Qualifications:
- Proven work experience as a manufacturing manager or similar role
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and industry standards
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills
- Good knowledge of health and safety regulations
- Understanding of quality standards and systems
- Experience with budget and business plan development
- Experience with automation, robotics, or line modernization projects
- BS degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a relevant field
- Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally
