SUMMARY: The General Manager - Capital Projects will lead the operations, overseeing all aspects of capital project execution for refining and petrochemical clients. This role requires a proven leader with strong P&L accountability, project delivery expertise, and client relationship skills.
Duties Or Responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership and direction for Houston’s capital projects portfolio, with full P&L accountability.
- Develop and implement business strategies to grow capital project presence across Gulf Coast refineries and petrochemical facilities.
- Oversee project execution from pre-construction through completion, ensuring safety, quality, schedule, and budget compliance.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships with refinery and petrochemical plant owners, EPCs, and strategic partners.
- Lead, mentor, and develop project managers, superintendents, and support staff to foster a culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory, safety, and environmental standards.
- Collaborate with corporate leadership to align operations
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, or related field (advanced degree preferred)
- 12 years of progressive leadership in capital project execution with in the refining, petrochemical, or industrial services sectors
- Demonstrated experience managing large capital projects ($25-$50M ), preferably within a contractor or EPC environment
- Strong knowledge of Gulf Coast refinery and petrochemical clients
- Proven P&L and operational management experience
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and client-facing skills
- Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
