1P Lab Technician/HW Datacenter Technician
On-site
This role is on-site Monday to Friday in Redmond, WA.
Rate
The rate range for this position is $62,400, to $72,800, plus benefits.
It's important to note that this role is exclusively for direct hires on W2 and is not open to C2C or any third-party arrangements.
Physical Infrastructure
- Vendor and logistics coordination for deployment.
- Manage all aspects of end-to-end physical infrastructure for Hardware Engineering and Testing.
- Integrate support and coordination with other lab sites for solution delivery.
- Physical implementation of racks, network equipment, power distribution units and monitoring and automation tools.
- Build out and deployment of servers with associated wiring, configuration, and monitoring.
- Design and deployment of cabling and power needs to support all hardware. Includes all aspects of electrical engineering, board troubleshooting, and validation.
- Server disassembly/reassembly – can lift up to 35lbs repeatedly.
Administration & Support
- Design and administer servers, VMs, and private networks/testing domains. Includes the typical admin and tech stack of Hyper-V, AD with integrated DNS and imaging, as well as operations tools such as SCCM.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in new and existing infrastructure.
- Carry out typical support activities to intake requests for issues and changes, investigate issue root causes, and implement fixes at all software and hardware levels.
- Implement designs from various teams to support hardware validation and qual work. Includes rapid POC for ad-hoc requests, dedicated bench test support.
- Enable remote workers to carry out any physical dependencies for qual and validation work.
- Set up and configure equipment for threshold and physical validation. For example, set up oscilloscopes and capture mechanisms.
- Coordinate with ODM/ISV and other needs for any onsite physical rework, such as firmware flashing, hotfixes, board soldering.
Basic Qualifications
· Associates degree in Engineering Technology or equivalent experience.
· Support engineering assembly for engineering check-out of proof of concept and prototypes system.
· Support electrical and mechanical debug, as necessary.
· Support rework, which involves in-house repair or logistics for external vendors and ODM repair.
· Set up, support, and maintain hardware in a lab environment.
· Soldering experience - Fine pitched devices, 0201 or 0402 components, rework power components
· Set up logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, and debug equipment.
Bonus Qualifications
· Technical background with hardware development (Trainable)
· Data center hardware equipment and design experience (Trainable)
· Experience with DC network configuration (Trainable)
· Server troubleshooting experience at a board and FW level
· Ability to set up racks and networks
· Liquid loop preparing and assembly
· Wiring and soldering
· J-STD-001 certified ideal but not required
· Knowledge and experience with LabVIEW
· Some level of system setup and integration, both electrically and mechanically; install OS and run scripts
· Parts programming (FPGA, Flash, etc.) and ability to take scope measurements
