Boehringer Ingelheim is currently seeking a talented and innovative Intern to join our Oncology Translational Science department located at our Ridgefield facility. As an Co-Op, you will be deeply involved in assisting with the accomplishment of our goal of identifying patient selection biomarker for our cancer immunology portfolio programs.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead the effort to develop a workflow for accurate processing of our multiplex immunofluorescence image data.
  • Benchmark contemporary algorithms to better understand spatial organization and crosstalk of tumor and its microenvironment in response to our mono- and combinatory therapeutic strategies.
  • Apply aforementioned items towards our current Biomarker projects to gain more thorough biological insights/understanding on spatial mechanism of tumor progression and response/resistance to therapy.

Requirements

  • Must be a current undergraduate, graduate or advanced degree student in good academic standing.
  • Student must be enrolled at an accredited college or university for the duration of the Co-Op.
  • Overall cumulative minimum GPA from last completed quarter/semester 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) preferred.
  • Major or minor in related field of Co-Op, e.g., Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Biomedical Engineer, Molecular Biology, etc.
  • Undergraduate students must have completed at least 12 credit hours at current college or university.
  • Graduate and advanced degree students must have completed at least 9 credit hours at current college or university.

Compensation :



Eligibility Requirements :

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
  • Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required).
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

Desired Skills, Experience and Abilities

  • Strong understanding of multi-dimensional ‘Omics’ data and modern approaches of data processing and integration
  • Excellent programming skill in scientific languages such as R or Python
  • Extensive experience applying ML techniques to large scale datasets
  • Problem-solving skills, creative thinking, and ability to think and tackle problems independently
