Summary/Objective
The Director of Sports Medicine Program provides leadership and oversight for all athletic trainers, ensuring high-quality care, safety, and compliance. This role supervises athletic trainers, coordinates care with providers and community partners, and supports the program’s daily operations and outreach.
Essential Job Duties

Coordinate all daily operations of the Sports Medicine Program to ensure efficient delivery of athletic training services and high standards of patient care.
Directly supervise, mentor, and evaluate athletic trainers and other assigned sports medicine staff, ensuring adherence to best practices, regulatory requirements, and hospital policies.
Manage the delivery of athletic training services, ensuring effective prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of sports-related injuries in collaboration with physicians, providers, coaches, and other healthcare professionals.
Develop, implement, and maintain policies and procedures for sports medicine operations, ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations, state guidelines, and applicable accreditation standards to protect the safety and well-being of athletes and staff.
Ensure effective communication among medical staff, coaches, student-athletes, families, and community partners, promoting the program’s services and serving as a liaison between the hospital and local schools or sports organizations.
Manage administrative aspects of the program, including budgeting, purchasing, insurance coordination, record maintenance, scheduling, and program evaluation. Support student mentoring, staff development, and educational initiatives related to sports medicine
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree
Required License/Certifications
State license or NATABOC and BLS
