Director of Outside Sales | Monsey, NY · $150K–$250K base Bonus
A well-established distribution company is seeking a Director of Outside Sales to lead its outside sales team and drive revenue growth. This is a strategic leadership role for someone with a strong track record in sales management, ready to expand the company's footprint. You'll set the sales vision, coach a team of managers and reps, and be a key voice at the leadership table.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Growth
- Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve revenue goals, identifying growth opportunities and market trends
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, to expand the company's presence.
- Conduct supply and demand research and modify sales programs based on competitor standards
Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of outside sales representatives and sales managers
- Hire and train additional sales managers
- Implement training programs to enhance the skills and effectiveness of the sales team
- Teach sales managers how to coach their teams on creative problem solving and customer engagement
Client & Performance Management
- Build and nurture strong relationships with key clients and industry stakeholders
- Demonstrate expertise in the company's product offerings to effectively communicate value to clients
- Monitor and analyze sales performance metrics, preparing detailed forecasts and reports for executive leadership
- Keep leadership apprised of progress toward targets and company performance
- Collaborate with marketing, customer service, and logistics teams to ensure a cohesive customer experience
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of proven success in outside sales leadership
- Several years of experience building and managing a sales team
- Exceptional leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Strong business development skills and ability to identify growth opportunities
- Results-driven, strategic mindset with a get-it-done attitude
- Ability to travel as needed
