BHcare is seeking a compassionate and dependable Residential Counselor to support individuals in developing independence and improving their quality of life. In this role, you will provide emotional support, counseling, and skill-building in areas such as daily living, health and safety, financial management, and community integration. Residential Counselors play a key role in creating a respectful, supportive environment that promotes recovery and growth.
This position is a full-time position, 40 hours per week. The schedule is Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday 4pm-12am.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist residents with independent living skills, including meal planning, cleaning, hygiene, and money management.
• Support clients in developing and following recovery plans, coordinating with treatment teams and natural supports.
• Provide advocacy, referrals, and connections to community resources.
• Facilitate rehab groups and interventions focused on skill building and recovery.
• Supervise self-medication protocols and ensure accurate documentation.
• Provide crisis intervention and collaborate with emergency services as needed.
• Maintain clear communication through progress notes, logs, and required records.
• Ensure a safe and supportive environment, including overnight coverage when assigned.
• Provide transportation and assist with scheduling personal appointments.

Qualifications:- Two years of college education or High School Diploma or Equivalent and 2 years’ direct care work experience.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft 365. Must be able to navigate through electronic health records system (EHR).
- Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license. Must maintain an acceptable driving record and be insurable at a reasonable rate under the Organization’s auto insurance plan.
- Must possess or have the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Passenger License. (Staff on the overnight shift may be excluded from Public Passenger License requirement).
- Ability to obtain and maintain CPR/AED/First Aid training
