Medical Assistant GI Clinic

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to providing high-quality patient care in various settings, including clinics, medical offices, and hospitals. As an LPN, you will play a crucial role in supporting patients and collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal health outcomes.

Duties

• Provide direct patient care under the supervision of physicians and clinical staff in a Gastroenterology (GI) clinic setting.
• Assist with clinic-based procedures and diagnostic testing, including phlebotomy, specimen collection, and processing.
• Support GI-specific tests such as PillCam studies, FibroScan , and other in-clinic diagnostic workflows.
• Assist with addimitting patients, rooming patients, and post-procedure care instructions.
• Perform clinical support tasks and other delegated procedures as needed.
• Educate patients and families on GI-related health conditions, treatment plans, bowel preparation instructions, and wellness strategies.
• Manage patient communication, including phone calls, portal messages, and appointment-related inquiries, in a timely and professional manner.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using electronic health record systems (e.g., Epic).
• Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and the broader GI care team to ensure efficient clinic workflow and high-quality patient care.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols, infection control standards, and clinic policies.
• Help in ASC, in admitting as and when needed.

Qualifications

• Current Medical Assistant Certification required.
• Experience in a hospital or specialty clinic setting (GI experience preferred).
• Familiarity with gastroenterology procedures such as PillCam and FibroScan is highly desirable.
• Proficient in specimen collection, processing, and basic laboratory handling techniques.
• Strong ability to manage patient communication, including calls and electronic messages, in a professional and compassionate manner.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced outpatient clinic environment.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly educate and support patients.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and commitment to patient confidentiality and high-quality care.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
