Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to providing high-quality patient care in various settings, including clinics, medical offices, and hospitals. As an LPN, you will play a crucial role in supporting patients and collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal health outcomes.
Duties
- Provide direct patient care under the supervision of physicians and clinical staff in a Gastroenterology (GI) clinic setting.
- Assist with clinic-based procedures and diagnostic testing, including phlebotomy, specimen collection, and processing.
- Support GI-specific tests such as PillCam studies, FibroScan , and other in-clinic diagnostic workflows.
- Assist with addimitting patients, rooming patients, and post-procedure care instructions.
- Perform clinical support tasks and other delegated procedures as needed.
- Educate patients and families on GI-related health conditions, treatment plans, bowel preparation instructions, and wellness strategies.
- Manage patient communication, including phone calls, portal messages, and appointment-related inquiries, in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using electronic health record systems (e.g., Epic).
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and the broader GI care team to ensure efficient clinic workflow and high-quality patient care.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols, infection control standards, and clinic policies.
- Help in ASC, in admitting as and when needed.
Qualifications
- Current Medical Assistant Certification required.
- Experience in a hospital or specialty clinic setting (GI experience preferred).
- Familiarity with gastroenterology procedures such as PillCam and FibroScan is highly desirable.
- Proficient in specimen collection, processing, and basic laboratory handling techniques.
- Strong ability to manage patient communication, including calls and electronic messages, in a professional and compassionate manner.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced outpatient clinic environment.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly educate and support patients.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and commitment to patient confidentiality and high-quality care.
