NEW TRUCK SALES MANAGER

POSITION SUMMARY:
The New Truck Sales Manager is responsible for ensuring and maintaining the sale of new trucks in line with the company’s objectives, goals, and policies. The New Truck Sales Manager will also be responsible for staffing, market share, customer relationships, budgeting, expense control, and asset management. This position is a key part in delivering our commitment – to be The Dealer of Choice and The Employer of Choice. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Take full accountability for the profitability, risk management, and growth of the New Truck Sales department.
- Develop AOR/territory strategy to achieve market share at or above national average.
- Build relationships and maintain communication with current and potential customers.
- Build an effective partnership and maintain communication with Freightliner, Western Star, Ford, and DTF contacts.
- Maintain solid communication and foster relationships with internal business partners (parts, service, accounting, body shop, F&I)
- Hire, train, coach, develop salespeople & support staff.
- Set visible objectives and priorities for the department, monitor, and discuss progress with the team. Take full responsibility to ensure every employee has a clear understanding of how success will be always measured. Create and maintain systems of accountability to measure team members’ performance against set targets
- Guide the structuring of complex sales transactions including large quantities of new trucks, trade-in packages, finance, and ancillary offerings.
- Maintain order board and proper stocking levels
- Oversee/ensure after sale processes are completed by support staff-warranty registrations, retail sales, etc.
- Analyze financial, schedules, and inventory reports on a weekly basis. Take action to resolve any issues.
- Maximize profit through expense control, floor plan optimization, T&E at appropriate levels
- Attend training, departmental meetings, trade shows, and conferences. Stay up to date on company changes, industry trends, product updates, and technological advances. Proactively prioritize own professional development to increase knowledge of business acumen and organizational development best practices to positively impact Peach State’s profitability.
- Ensure department compliance with company sales and management policies and financial requirements.
- Support General Manager in business planning (annual & quarterly) and forecasting as requested.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education
Bachelor’s degree (B.A. / B.S.) from a fully accredited four-year college or university
and
General Experience
Minimum of five relate experience and/or training
An equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable
SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE
Minimum 5 years in commercial equipment or medium- to heavy-duty truck dealership is preferred.
Knowledge of the wholesale/retail market.
Proven track record of developing professional sales team.
Must be willing to travel.
Must possess good work ethics.
Must be Company/Team minded.
CDL preferred
