Entry-Level Vehicle Service Technician

Job Title: Part‑Time Entry‑Level Mechanic

Location: [Seymour, TN]

Schedule: Monday–Friday shifts; weekends available for extra work and overtime. Hours vary based on workload.

Role Summary:
We’re seeking a motivated, entry‑level mechanic to join our shop on a part‑time basis. This role is ideal for someone with hands‑on familiarity with basic mechanic tools and a solid understanding of basic engine and drivetrain function, who wants to grow with a busy shop.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform basic maintenance and repair tasks under supervision (oil changes, brake jobs, fluid checks, belt replacements, basic diagnostics).
• Inspect engines, drivetrains, and related systems; report findings to lead technician.
• Use and maintain hand and power tools safely and correctly.
• Follow shop procedures, safety protocols, and quality standards.
• Clean and organize work areas and tools.
• Communicate clearly with supervisors about parts, time estimates, and job status.

Required Qualifications:

• Familiarity with common mechanic hand and power tools.
• Basic understanding of engine and drivetrain components and operation.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions.
• Ability to lift moderate weight and work in a shop environment.
• Valid driver’s license.

Preferred (but not required):

• Previous shop or hands‑on automotive experience (formal education, apprenticeship, or hobbyist work).
• Basic diagnostic skills (OBD‑II familiarity).
• ASE certification in progress or planned.

Compensation & Benefits:

• Pay commensurate with experience and demonstrated motivation.
• Commission/bonus eligibility after successful completion of 3 months of in‑house experience.
• Overtime and extra weekend work available.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $13.50 - $24.00 per hour
