What are the responsibilities and job description for the Property Accountant position at Beztak Development Property Management?

The Property Accountant is responsible for the financial accounting of a portfolio of residential apartments. This includes the monthly close, financial statement reporting, bank reconciliations and other ad hoc reports as needed.
This position is fully onsite at our Corporate Office in Farmington Hills, MI.
Compensation: $75-$80k base bonus potential
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible for the financial accounting for a portfolio of properties
- Complete month end, quarterly and annual accounting responsibilities for the portfolio
- Tie out balance sheet accounts
- Complete back reconciliations
- Calculate and enter accruals and reclasses
- Complete year end packages for tax returns and audits
- Able to work in a high-pressure environment, interacting with difficult customers/vendors, handling urgent matters, resolving conflicts, having effective interpersonal skills.

- Time management proficiency
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
- 1 to 2 years experience in an accounting role
- Yardi experience preferred, but not required
- Property Management experience is a plus

The position requires prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. You will also frequently walk, stand, and communicate with co-workers, guests, and the public.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position typically operates indoors in an air-conditioned office, with a mixture of natural, incandescent and fluorescent light.
