Job Overview:
We are seeking a reliable, hands-on Maintenance Technician (Handyman) to support the upkeep and repair of our warehouse facility. This role handles day-to-day fixes and preventive maintenance across the building and grounds — plumbing, electrical/lighting, doors and locks, HVAC, and general repairs — keeping operations running safely and smoothly. We are especially interested in candidates with a background in hotel/hospitality maintenance or similar guest-facing facility upkeep, as this experience translates well to the fast turnaround, wide variety of repairs, and service-oriented mindset needed in our warehouse environment. Experience with lighting products/fixtures is a plus given our facility handles lighting inventory.
Key Responsibilities Respond promptly to maintenance requests throughout the warehouse (offices, break rooms, restrooms, loading docks, warehouse floor) Troubleshoot and repair lighting fixtures, ballasts, drivers, switches, and wiring issues (basic electrical) Repair and maintain plumbing fixtures — faucets, toilets, drains, minor leaks Fix and maintain doors, locks, hinges, and hardware (including dock doors and roll-up doors) Perform basic HVAC troubleshooting (filters, thermostats, ventilation fans) and coordinate with vendors for major repairs Conduct routine preventive maintenance checks on building systems, racking, dock equipment, and overhead doors Patch drywall, touch up paint, and complete minor carpentry repairs Maintain forklifts/pallet jacks and material handling equipment (basic upkeep; escalate specialized repairs to certified techs) Inspect and maintain fire safety and emergency lighting/exit signage Assist with facility cleanliness, organization, and light groundskeeping (parking lot, exterior lighting, trash removal) Maintain accurate logs of work orders, parts used, and completed repairs Follow OSHA safety guidelines and company safety protocols at all times Coordinate with outside vendors/contractors for specialized repairs (HVAC, electrical, dock equipment, pest control) Support occasional facility projects (shelving installs, signage, equipment setup)
Qualifications
Required: 1 year of experience in maintenance, handyman work, facilities, or a related trade Basic working knowledge of plumbing, electrical/lighting, and general repair techniques Comfortable using hand and power tools safely Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks (climbing ladders, bending, kneeling, working at heights) Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Reliable, punctual, and able to work independentlyPreferred: Prior experience as a maintenance technician/handyman in a hotel, resort, or hospitality setting is strongly preferred — comfort handling varied, fast-turnaround repairs (locks, plumbing, lighting, fans, minor carpentry) across a large property High school diploma or equivalent Experience in a warehouse, distribution center, or industrial facility also considered Familiarity with lighting fixtures/products (LED, fluorescent, drivers/ballasts) Forklift certification (or willingness to be certified) Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
