Job Summary

- Implement individualized behavior intervention plans based on ABA principles to support clients with autism and other developmental disabilities
- Collect and analyze data on client behaviors, progress, and response to interventions to inform ongoing treatment strategies
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including grooming, hygiene, feeding, and other essential self-care tasks
- Support clients in educational settings by applying special education techniques and teaching new skills in a patient, encouraging manner
- Maintain accurate medical documentation, including progress notes, care plans, and behavioral records in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Collaborate with team members to develop, review, and update individualized care plans tailored to each client’s needs
- Foster a positive environment that promotes behavior management, patience, and understanding during therapy sessions
Qualifications
- Prior experience or training in behavioral therapy or working with children with developmental disabilities is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential
- Strong understanding of applied behavior analysis (ABA) techniques and behavior management strategies
- Ability to work effectively with individuals with autism and other developmental challenges in various settings
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients, families, educators, and healthcare professionals
- Comfortable assisting with ADLs and implementing teaching strategies in a compassionate manner
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, and documentation standards such as HIPAA regulations is advantageous
- Patience, adaptability, and a genuine passion for helping others grow are key qualities for success in this role
