Duties
- Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and assist with patient intake processes.
- Measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration. Phlebotomy experience required.
- Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and ensuring comfort.
- Assist healthcare providers with clinical tasks including medication administration, X-ray procedures, and basic life support when needed.
- Manage electronic health record (EHR) systems accurately by documenting patient encounters, ICD coding, and medical history updates.
- Support hospital medicine units or outpatient clinics by coordinating patient flow and ensuring timely care delivery.
- Perform basic anatomy and physiology assessments to aid in diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Handle administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, managing referrals, and maintaining medical supplies inventory.
- Assist with inpatient or emergency medicine procedures within Level I or Level II trauma centers or Geriatrics settings.
- Support physicians during surgical procedures in the operating room (OR) or outpatient settings.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Medical Assistant in busy clinical environments such as dermatology clinics, hospital wards, urgent care centers, or outpatient facilities.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, ICD coding, and medication administration protocols.
- Experience working with EHR systems and managing patient records efficiently.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage intake processes, vital signs collection, ICD coding accuracy, and inpatient/outpatient coordination.
