Note: This position if for 2nd Shift with working hours from 4:00pm to 12:00am.

As a Production Team Member, you will be assisting in the Production and manufacturing process. The Production Team Member's responsibilities include keeping the production area clean, preparing machinery and equipment for use, handling and creeling of material, and strictly following safety and health guidelines. Please see the following on what those duties consist of:

  • A Comez machine operator sets up and operates creeling equipment, which produces yarn and similar materials. They monitor the entire process to ensure it adheres to production guidelines and company standards. Their responsibilities include cutting yarn ends, removing the old thread from machines, keeping records, cleaning the facilities, conducting regular maintenance checks on equipment, and performing basic repairs. Additionally, a Comez machine operator must maintain an active communication line with their co-workers to maintain an efficient and safe work environment.
  • Moving machine operators install, maintain, and operate automated machinery. They must have a strong understanding of the machines they work with. In-depth training may be required in order to prepare a moving machine operator for their daily duties. Moving machine operators may work with mechanical or computer-operated equipment. They must be technically inclined and be able to properly utilize tools and machinery.

Safety:

  • Safety glasses, offering full eye protection must be worn when using compressed air for cleaning.
  • Air hoses must be returned to hangers, coiled on hanger or otherwise stationed so that there is no risk of trip hazard.
  • Scissors, snips and clips must have sharp points rounded off.
  • Any trip, slip and/or fall hazard must be eliminated immediately, even if the hazard exists in an area other than your immediate work area.
  • All associates with hair below their shoulders will have their hair pulled back in a ponytail or encased in a hair net.
  • Use safe lifting techniques.  Do not lift more than 75 pounds without assistance.
  • Get supervisor clearance before performing any operation that may result in injury.

Production associate specific responsibilities:

  • Understand Quality Policy
  • Proper yarn identification
  • Proper bin doff / placement
  • Proper creel/yarn validation
  • Proper weaver/knitter knot on polyester
  • Proper number of crochet strings per bin/mop
  • Proper yarn transfer/ replacement in the creel
  • Proper use of the splicer
  • Proficient operation of Comez machine
  • Understanding of proper functionality of E-stops
  • Proper yarn thread when a yarn is missing
  • Ensure that crochet yarn is properly building up in the bin
  • Proper identification of #of yarn per crochet
  • Proper identification of #of knots per 10cm of crochet yarn
  • Filling out quality forms
  • Proper Moving machine operation
  • Proper refill of cord holders
  • Proper Oven operation
  • Proper crochet yarn thread
  • Proper length of crochet inserted in cord holder
  • Understand Quality criteria of mop head.
  • Understand heat tunnel settings
  • Rework mop heads as needed
  • Proper technique of inspection
  • Proper technique of laying mops on input conveyor of heat tunnel
  • Housekeeping and preventing product from foreign object debris contamination and dirt
  • Proper preventative maintenance

 

Qualifications:

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing operation is beneficial.
  • Experience operating manufacturing machinery and equipment.
  • Able to work as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills.
  • High school diploma/GED.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Physical dexterity.
  • Available for Saturday work as needed.
