POSITION SUMMARY:
This role is responsible for leading and developing the Sales/Applications Engineering Team. This includes the development of standard documentation and processes to support the business development team.
This team will be responsible for delivering technical solutions that meet customer requirements and align with company standards throughout the pre-sale process. The team will be defining and optimizing product scope, schedule, industrial schemes, and cost estimates while ensuring compliance with contractual and internal policies. The incumbent will have experience completing and leading detailed calculations for plant, system, and equipment performance, prepare technical specifications and costing documentation, and customize products to address specific customer needs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (The following duties and responsibilities are all essential job functions, as defined by the ADA, except for those that begin with the word "May.")
- Lead and grow a team of engineers to support the business development efforts of Dynamis and AMP.
- Develop processes and specifications to standardize offering around our standard products
- Be accountable for the team's quality and timeliness of engineering deliverables, including but not limited to mechanical F&IDs, manufacturing, installation drawings and documentation, electrical one- and three-line diagrams, worksheets, schematics and loop diagrams, interconnect drawings and cable schedules, I/O list, cause and effect, and turbine control layouts
- Provide technical leadership and engineering support to applications engineers pre-sale with deliverables related to request for proposals (RFQs) and cost/engineering budget estimation.
- Lead the team to provide engineering manpower and schedule estimates in support of sales
- Lead a team to develop technical solutions (configuration, performance estimation, economics) as part of the pre-sale process and interface with the commercial team
- Support commercial operations with risk assessments
- Define and optimize the products, scope (description), schedule, industrial scheme, cost, and consider contract and internal policies and procedures.
- Lead and perform calculations of plant, system, and equipment performance and efficiency.
- Develop and document the technical specifications and costing elements for further contract execution phases.
- Customize the products and implement them for specific customer needs
- Develop and manage handover meetings pending successful sale of the opportunity to the project management team
- Performs other related duties as assigned to assist with successful operations and business continuity.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Successfully passes all applicable general pre-employment testing including but not limited to: background check, pre-employment drug screening, pre-employment fit tests, pre-employment aptitude and/or competency assessment(s).
- Possesses a valid U.S. Driver’s License. Employment is contingent upon meeting company driving standards, including an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) in accordance with Company policy.
- Daily overtime required and in person, predictable attendance in The Woodlands, TX.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship.
- Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE LEVEL:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related.
- Minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience in power generation with a focus on rotating equipment/gas turbines.
Preferred Experience
- Owner’s engineer or lenders’ technical advisor background.
- Permitting, interconnection studies, and market participation with ISO/RTOs.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, CAPABILITIES, AND ABILITIES
Technical Skills
- Mechanical/Electrical: turbines (GT), HRSG/boilers, switchyards (HV/MV/LV), transformers, cabling and other BOP equipment.
- Power generation experience with rotating equipment and installations
- Leadership: Experience leading a successful team of engineers
Soft Skills
- Strong leadership, negotiation, project and contractor management.
- Clear communication with executives and field teams.
- Analytical and problem-solving mindset; bias toward action and accountability.
Travel and Work Conditions
- 10–30% travel to project sites and vendor facilities as required.
- Ability to work in industrial environments and comply with all PPE requirements.

When required to visit a wellsite, the work environment may include exposure to hazardous materials, operating conditions, audio levels up to 85 dB, inclement weather, and extreme temperatures (both hot and cold). Given these conditions, employees visiting a pad site are required to wear company-mandated and company-issued Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including fire retardant coveralls, safety hat, steel-toe boots, safety glasses, ear protection, and impact gloves, and must strictly adhere to all safety policies and procedures. Employees must be able to independently lift 25 lbs. |
Work hours may include early morning, late afternoon/evening hours, and weekends in combination depending on job demands.
