In this role, you will assist with planning, implementation, and delivery of resident-centered activities. This role is vital in enhancing the emotional, physical, cognitive, and social well-being of residents through engaging programs that promote quality of life and a sense of community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and implement daily group and individual activities that meet residents’ interests, abilities, and life stories
- Assist with creating monthly activity calendars and coordinating special events, outings, holiday celebrations, and themed programs
- Encourage resident participation and provide support to those with physical or cognitive limitations
- Work collaboratively with all departments
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with residents, families, and staff
- Assist with transporting residents to and from activities when needed
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable living environment
- Follow infection control and safety procedures at all times
- Other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or GED required
- Creativity, enthusiasm, and compassion for working with older adults
- Understand, respect, and maintain resident confidentiality
- Must pass required criminal background check in order to serve vulnerable adults
- Active driver’s license, clean driving record and personal auto insurance required for driving positions
- Must be screened TB and other state-required health care conditions
- Be able to read, write, and comprehend English
- Indoors, climate-controlled assisted living facility with a focus on personalized care
- Requires physical activity including standing, walking, lifting up to 25 pounds, and assisting residents
- Possible exposure to unpleasant odors.
- Possible exposure to chemicals as indicated in the MSDS manual.
