What are the responsibilities and job description for the Licensed Massage Therapist — Part-Time, Commission (Clinical / Integrative Bodywork) position at Better Life Bodywork?
Job Description
Better Life Bodywork is a clinical, movement-based massage practice in Savannah. We're not a spa churning out back-to-back relaxation massages. Sessions start with a real intake, a postural and range-of-motion assessment, and a customized plan that treats the patterns underneath, not just tension. Clients come to us for recovery, chronic tension, athletic performance, and staying mobile for the long haul.
We've grown to the point where one set of hands can't cover the demand, so we're bringing on a second therapist to share the caseload.
What you'd do
- Provide integrative, therapeutic massage tailored to each client's goals
- Run intake and basic postural / range-of-motion assessments for new clients
- Give simple self-care and mobility suggestions as needed between sessions
- Keep clean session notes and communicate with clients through our booking system
What we're looking for
- Must have an active Georgia massage therapy license (or eligible to transfer one before starting)
- Must have your own professional liability insurance
- Comfort with therapeutic and deep-tissue work, not just relaxation
- A background or genuine interest in movement, mobility, or working with active clients
- Reliable, professional, and good at building trust with clients you'll see again and again
- Openness to learning and taking CEUs as a team
- Bonus - not required: experience with cupping, red light therapy, or working with athletes
- Bonus - not required: if you have any specialities we don't currently offer (like lymphatic drainage or prenatal massage) so we can serve clients we'd otherwise refer out
What we offer
- Commission split on every session, with clients booked for you (you're welcome to book your own)
- Flexible part-time schedule you help shape around real demand
- A supportive solo-to-small practice where your input actually matters
- Room to grow hours as your caseload builds
Details
- Part-time to start, with room to grow
- Location: Savannah, GA (Wilmington Island)
- Pay: commission split, roughly $62–$70 per session (sessions start at an introductory client rate and step up to our full rate as you get established)
If this sounds like your kind of practice, apply here with a short note about your experience and what draws you to this kind of bodywork. We read every application. Looking forward to talking with you!
