Job Description
Kayfoods is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented *Quality Assurance (QA) Technician to join our food manufacturing team. This position is responsible for conducting routine food safety and quality inspections, maintaining accurate records, and preparing customer product samples for shipment.
No previous QA experience is required! We are willing to train the right candidate who is organized, dependable, and able to follow established procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct daily pre-operational (Pre-Op) inspections of production areas and equipment.
- Monitor and document Critical Control Point (CCP) temperatures.
- Check sanitizer concentrations and maintain accurate logs.
- Perform routine equipment calibration checks and maintain calibration records.
- Prepare, package, and coordinate customer product sample requests for shipment.
- Ensure customer sample requests are completed accurately and on time.
- Conduct additional food safety, sanitation, and quality inspections as assigned.
- Maintain accurate and organized QA documentation.
- Identify, report, and follow up on food safety or quality concerns with the QA Manager.
- Assist the QA Manager with other assigned responsibilities.
Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and follow through on assignments.
- Dependable, responsible, and able to work independently.
- Good communication skills and ability to report concerns promptly.
- Basic computer skills and ability to maintain accurate records.
- Comfortable working in a food manufacturing environment.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred, but not required.
- Previous QA or food manufacturing experience is a plus, but not required.
