Anticipated High School German Teacher

Start Date: August 2026

Hours: 1.0 FTE Position

Starting Salary: $50,000 (BA 0-4, 1.0 FTE, 2025-26) 

Position Overview

We are seeking a passionate and qualified High School German Teacher to join our World Languages Department. The ideal candidate will foster a love for the German language while helping students develop strong communication skills in reading, writing, listening, and speaking.

Required Qualifications:  

• Must have or be able to obtain Iowa certification and 5-12 German Endorsement
• Applicants must have valid U.S. citizenship, permanent residency, or an active work visa.
  
   

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging German language lessons aligned with state and national standards
• Teach multiple levels of German
• Integrate cultural content from German speaking countries into instruction
• Assess and monitor student progress, providing timely feedback
• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment
• Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and technologies
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
