Role Description
This part-time, on-site Library Assistant role is located in Reading, PA. The Library Assistant will be responsible for assisting with library services, supporting circulation activities, managing library materials, and providing excellent customer service to patrons. Daily tasks will include shelving books, assisting visitors with locating materials, answering inquiries, and ensuring an organized and welcoming library environment.
Qualifications
- Knowledge and experience in Library Services, Library Science, and Circulation tasks
- Excellent Communication and Customer Service skills to assist patrons effectively
- Organizational skills and attention to detail for managing library materials and ensuring a tidy environment
- Ability to work collaboratively with library staff and independently as needed
- Basic proficiency with library systems and technology; familiarity with emerging information delivery methods is a plus
- High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework in Library Science or related field preferred
