Position Summary:
As a Registered Nurse (RN) for Bethel Lutheran Home, you will provide high-quality, compassionate care to residents while ensuring compliance with all health and safety guidelines. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to promote the physical and emotional well-being of residents, implementing and overseeing their care plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Resident Care:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of residents' health status, including physical, emotional, and social needs.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans in collaboration with residents, families, and the healthcare team.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Monitor and document residents' responses to treatments and medications, reporting any changes to the appropriate healthcare provider.
- Provide wound care, IV therapy, and other nursing procedures as needed.
- Communication:
- Maintain clear and open communication with residents, families, and the healthcare team.
- Educate residents and their families about health conditions, treatments, and care plans.
- Participate in care conferences and family meetings to discuss residents' progress and needs.
- Compliance and Documentation:
- Ensure all nursing practices comply with state and federal regulations and facility policies.
- Accurately document all nursing care, including assessments, interventions, and outcomes, in residents' medical records.
- Assist in preparing for and participating in regulatory inspections and audits.
- Team Collaboration:
- Work collaboratively with Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), and other healthcare professionals.
- Provide leadership and guidance to nursing staff, fostering a positive and supportive work environment.
- Participate in staff meetings, in-service training, and continuing education programs to stay current with nursing practices.
- Quality Improvement:
- Contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives within the facility.
- Identify areas for improvement in resident care and work with the healthcare team to implement solutions.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Licensure/Certification:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of CA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Advanced certifications (e.g., Gerontological Nursing) preferred.
- Experience:
- Previous experience in a skilled nursing facility or long-term care setting preferred.
- Knowledge of geriatric care and chronic disease management.

- Strong clinical and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $42.00 - $46.00 per hour
