What are the responsibilities and job description for the Resident Assistant - Full Time & Part Time position at Bethel Lutheran Home?
The Certified Medication Aide will administer medications to residents under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse in accordance with the facility and SD State Facility of Health policies and procedures.
Resident Care Activities
Performs resident care activities in accordance with policies and procedures. These include but are not limited to:
- Maintain records of resident care, condition, progress, or problems to report and discuss observations with supervisor or Director.
- Assists residents with help moving in and out of beds, baths, wheelchairs or automobiles, and with dressing and grooming.
- Change bed linens, wash and iron residents' laundry, and clean residents' quarters.
- Entertain, converse with, or read aloud to residents to keep them mentally healthy and alert.
- Prepare and serve meals to residents or other family members, according to prescribed diets.
- Direct residents in simple prescribed exercises or in the use of braces or artificial limbs.
- Check residents' pulse, temperature and respiration.
- Maintain records of resident care, condition, progress, or problems to report and discuss observations with supervisor.
- The environment of care will be safe, clean, and uncluttered.
