What are the responsibilities and job description for the School of the Prophets In Person Event Coordinator position at Bethel Church of Redding?
The In Person Event Coordinator makes sure that the nuts and bolts of the in-person School of the Prophets event are all in place. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail and is proficient in learning & executing tasks on various software. This person will be a natural problem solver, understand processes and technology, willing to take on a complicated challenge, strongly self-motivated, with a high level of care for people and hospitality. This is a temporary position, seasonal to the months leading up to and through The School of the Prophets event in August 2026.
Hours: Estimated schedule requirements below
- June: approx. 10-20 hours per week
- July: approx. 25 hours per week
- 1st Week August: 40 hours with overtime required during the week of the event
- 2nd and 3rd Weeks of August: approx. 10-15 hours per week for event wrap-up
Job Requirements
- Coordinate and oversee all aspects specific to the in person event
- Room Bookings
- Coordinating with various Bethel departments to plan event program
- Point of contact for Community Group leaders
- Communicate with in person guests via SOTP email inbox
- Draft email communications to send event details to IP attendees
- Organize logistics for attendees on site e.g. seating, signage, green room, parking, etc.
- Create a beautiful and excellent experience for our guests
- Oversee volunteer teams and support staff
- Provide customer service to guests
- Work closely with many other departments and team leads to ensure successful program

- Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and achieve deadlines under pressure
- Naturally self-motivated and able to work independently and successfully as part of a team
- Organized and highly efficient with personal time management
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Understanding of systems and processes; not intimidated by technology and computers
- Planning and project management skills - set goals, make a plan to achieve them and manage the process to reach said goals.
- Excellent communicator and creative thinker, with an ability to use both data and intuition to inform decisions.
- This position does not qualify for sponsorship of work authorization or an employment visa, so candidates must be legally qualified to work in the U.S. to be considered for this position.

- BSSM Alumni
- Knowledge and/or experience with Bethel Events
- Prior experience with Project Management Systems
- Prior experience with event coordination
