BSJ Care Center is looking for a Part Time Van Driver to transport residents to and from appointments and to assist in transportation for new admissions. This position works every other week, anywhere from 20-40 hours ranging from 7:30am - 5pm depending on resident transportation needs. Occasional Saturdays may also be required. 

JOB SUMMARY: To provide transportation for our residents safely and comfortably to medical and dental appointments and admission to the facility.

JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Operate a facility owned van
2.  to transport residents to and from appointments.
3. to transport new residents to facility upon admission.
4. to transport resident lab, x-rays or other material as needed.
5. Responsible for assuring the van meets all safety requirements and reporting any needed repairs.
6. Communicate with facility via cell phone for pick-ups and changes in the driving schedule.
7. Responsible for the completion of records regarding the transport of  residents for billing purposes.
8. Perform other assignments as directed by supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Non-probationary license required and must be insurable.
2. A driving record that will meet the criteria to be authorized to drive a company vehicle.
3. Good communication skills.
4. Possess ability to operate a mechanical chair lift on van.
5. Experience with dealing with elderly and disabled.
6. Ability to represent the facility in a positive manner.
7. Have good customer service skills
8. Be able to react in urgent situations.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Pushing up to 30-45#.
• Bending, twisting and other physical activities involved in loading and unloading the van frequently.
• Handling wheelchairs of various types and weight.
• Will be required to complete an on-line van safety course and test
• Work every other week.
