Location: Remote in Maine

Hours: Full-time (40 hours/week)

Salary: $58,915.00/yr. plus up to 20% location differential (Additional compensation available for candidates with a master's degree)

This position includes a $3,000 Signing Bonus

One time Sign-On Bonus: $1500

Additional Incentive Bonus after 6 months, based on performance and other factors: $1500

Note: Internal candidates do not qualify for the bonus.

Candidates must be able to serve candidates in one of the listed Maine counties: York

This position is based out of your home office in Maine and requires significant travel, with 50% of your time spent in the community providing in-home and local support to families

How your role makes a difference

When family conflict makes home an unsafe place, children are at risk of entering foster care and families are at risk of separation. HOMEBUILDERS® is focused on prevention. The goal is to build on a family’s strengths, equipping them to care for their child in their home before a challenge reaches a crisis point.

When families are referred for services, a Homebuilders specialist comes to their home to assess their needs and create a targeted plan. The goal is to mitigate safety concerns that would prevent children from remaining at home with their parents. In this role, you would work with a small caseload of families, conducting in-home sessions 3-5 times per week. Each family’s needs are unique, so interventions could include helping them meet basic needs, teaching communication skills, teaching parenting skills and behavior modification skills, and using advanced therapeutic techniques.

Your Responsibilities May Include But Are Not Limited To

  • Conducting in-home visits 3-5 times a week ( 40 hours per family over four weeks)
  • Coordinating with local CPS workers who referred the case to understand the reported safety risks and ensure families are receiving quality services
  • Utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques to teach needed skills to family members that will enable them to safely parent their children.
  • Attending training, meetings, and supervision sessions to equip you in your role
  • Preparing reports and required documentation

Qualifications

What will make you successful

  • This position requires a bachelor ’ s degree in social work, social sciences, h uman s ervices or an equivalent field of study from an accredited college , with at least t wo years ’ experience working with children and families ; or a master’s degree in social work , human services or related field of study from an accredited college with experience working with children and families .
  • Demonstrated ability with providing e xcellent clinical and crisis intervention skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills .
  • Computer skills sufficient to perform essential functions including knowledge of Microsoft Office suite;
  • Must be 21 years old with a valid driver ’ s license with three years ’ driving experience in the U.S. Must also pass a m otor v ehicle r ecords check and maintain a reliable automobile with proof of adequate insurance coverage.
  • Pass a criminal history screen, including state and local child protection agency registries.
  • Subscription to and integration of the agency Statement of Faith, Mission Statement, and Commitment to Unity.
