We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Housekeeping Supervisor to oversee daily operations within our hospitality or institutional environment. The ideal candidate will lead a team of housekeeping staff, ensure high standards of cleanliness, and maintain a welcoming and safe environment for guests or residents. This role requires strong leadership skills, extensive cleaning knowledge, and a background in hospitality or custodial services. The Housekeeping Supervisor plays a vital role in maintaining the overall appearance and hygiene of the facility, ensuring guest satisfaction and operational efficiency.
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of housekeeping staff to ensure efficient operations
- Develop cleaning schedules and assign tasks to team members based on priorities and workload
- Conduct inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces to ensure cleanliness standards are met
- Train new staff on cleaning procedures, safety protocols, and customer service expectations
- Oversee floor care activities including carpet cleaning, waxing, and polishing to maintain surface quality
- Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring proper usage and timely replenishment
- Enforce safety policies related to industrial cleaning, janitorial practices, and use of cleaning chemicals
- Address guest or resident concerns promptly to resolve issues related to cleanliness or service quality
- Collaborate with management to implement improvements in housekeeping procedures and service delivery
Qualifications
- Proven experience in cleaning, janitorial services, or custodial work, with a focus on hospitality or industrial cleaning environments
- Prior experience in housekeeping management or supervisory roles within hotels or similar facilities is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of floor care techniques and general cleaning procedures
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team
- Familiarity with hospitality standards and customer service excellence
- Ability to train staff effectively on safety protocols, cleaning methods, and equipment use
- Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness standards
- Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks as needed and oversee multiple areas simultaneously
- Relevant certifications in industrial cleaning or custodial management are a plus
