Role Overview
Best Interest is hiring a
Head of Processing
to help build and scale a best-in-class mortgage operation through a period of rapid growth. Backed by a unique marketing and data platform, we've just gone through 300% quarter-on-quarter growth — and are looking to 3x again in 2026.
This is a unique opportunity to get in on the ground floor and build something that truly makes an impact. In this role, you'll own the systems, processes and team that allow our loan officers and real estate partners to deliver an exceptional client experience at scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, develop, and scale the Processing team; serve as the final escalation point for complex or time-sensitive loans.
- Own department performance, capacity planning, quality, and compliance outcomes, scaling from ~30 closings per month to
70 closings per month by the end of 2026
. - Partner with Sales and Executive Leadership to align staffing models, workflows, and growth targets.
- Own ARIVE as the system of record and continuously evolve workflows as volume scales.
- Drive system and process improvements across ARIVE, Salesforce, and lender portals to reduce manual work and increase visibility.
- Build capacity models and file allocation strategies to prevent bottlenecks as headcount and volume grow.
- Maintain a relentless focus on delivering an exceptional client and realtor experience.
- Manage the loan lifecycle from submission through investor underwriting, funding, and post-close delivery.
- Support the growth of the correspondent lending channel by owning warehouse funding, post-close operations, and timely investor delivery.
What Success Looks Like
In 3 months…
- Align Operations and Processing to scale from
20–30 to 40 purchase closings per month
consistently. - Standardize ARIVE LOS usage so pipeline stages, milestones, and reporting accurately reflect the true state of the business.
- Define processing KPIs, capacity, constraints, and near-term hire or support triggers.
In 12 months…
- Scale operations to support
60 closings per month
through repeatable, documented processes. - Build a high-performing processing function with clear roles, accountability, and performance metrics that can scale without relying on heroics or constant redesign.
- Leverage ARIVE data and reporting to proactively manage pipeline risk, turn times, bottlenecks, and compliance.
- Become a key thought partner to Best Interest's President and sales leaders on growth and operational planning.
In 3 years…
- Scale a high-performance processing team powering billions in annual originations.
- Develop processes and culture that enable Best Interest to push the boundaries on client and realtor satisfaction scores.
- Become a critical leader and trusted subject-matter expert within Best Interest and the broader Clever Real Estate ecosystem.
Experience Required
- 8 years of mortgage operations experience across processing, post-close, underwriting, or hybrid roles with 2 years leading processors or processing teams
- Deep experience in broker, wholesale, or correspondent lending environments
- Direct hands-on ownership of loans from submission through funding and post-close, including non-delegated correspondent funding
- Proven experience scaling processing teams and capacity over time (e.g., 2 → 4 → 8 processors)
- Demonstrated ability to design and implement workflows, capacity models, and performance standards
- Track record of hiring, onboarding, and developing high-performing operations teams
