Laboratory Supervisor

Job Summary:

Bertrand Chaffee Hospital, a community-governed non-profit organization dedicated to providing essential health resources to our community, is seeking a Laboratory Supervisor to join our team. As a Laboratory Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our laboratory, ensuring accurate and timely testing results, and supporting exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of laboratory staff, including laboratory technicians, phlebotomists, and administrative personnel
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, quality control procedures, and accreditation standards
• Conduct quality control and quality assurance activities, including proficiency testing and quality control programs
• Participate in the development and implementation of laboratory policies and procedures
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth laboratory operations and effective communication
• Participate in laboratory quality improvement initiatives and educational programs
• Maintain accurate and complete records of laboratory tests, results, and quality control activities
• Ensure timely and efficient turnaround of laboratory results
• Provide exceptional patient care and service
  
  
  

Requirements:

• Current New York State approved “Clinical Laboratory Technologist” registration/license certificate
• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field
• At least 4 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role
• Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures, instrumentation, and quality control measures
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
