What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Principal - Ruskin Elementary School position at Berryessa Union School District?
DUTIES OVERVIEW: Assist in leadership and coordination in the organization and/or improvement of instruction. Assist in the development of school goals and the School Improvement Program. Coordinate and supervise routine tasks, such as yard duty, cafeteria, traffic patterns, student discipline, and safety patrol activities, etc. Assist in the development of staff assignments and the evaluation of staff members as assigned by the principal. Communicate with parents, counselors, staff members, and students. Assist the principal, staff and community in the development and maintenance of school policies. Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers. Provide orientation, in-service training and coordination of paraprofessional, student teachers, and student aides. Direct and coordinate student body activities. Assist in special service referrals, as needed. Assist principal with other responsibilities as assigned for site operation including Common Core State Standards implementation.
QUALIFICATIONS: Must posses a valid California Elementary Teaching Credential and Administrative Services Credential; Master's Degree; three years of successful teaching experience; knowledge of Common Core State Standards to facilitate and promote implementation; such alternatives or additional qualifications as the Board desires. Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
