Responsibilities:
- Start-up, control, monitoring, and shut-down of a multiple Extruder sheet line
- Efficiently perform color and/or mold change
- Access the on-line schedule in JDE and verify the Extrusion equipment and material system is properly set up for the next production job
- Properly hook up material system and blenders to multiple Extruders and verify resins, colorants, regrind, and/or additives are being properly dispensed
- Safely break down, clean, and re-assemble Extrusion equipment
- Safely break down, clean, and re-assemble Grinding equipment
- Verify good sheet quality through correct gauge control, width, color, and visual appearance
- Make decisions regarding sheet quality
- Operate and set up NDC system to assist with proper gauge control
- Use Colori5 color check system to verify sheet is within specification
- Use ISRA vision system to monitor sheet for quality defects
- Operate turret winder system
- Communicate with the proper departments regarding maintenance on both the Extrusion and Material Handling equipment
- Monitor Laminate Extrusion Assistants in department
- Effectively communicate with all Extrusion shifts
- Assist with color matches and/or material samples
- Record shift production in WebEff
- High school diploma/GED equivalent
- Prior Sheet Extrusion experience preferred
- Exceptional organizational and communication skills with ability to work independently
- Ability to communicate and work well with other Laminate Extrusion Technicians, and Assistants
- Ability to lead people in a positive manner
- Must become fork truck certified with ability to drive safely and accurately
- Must become LOTO certified
- Able to follow GMP regulations
- Ability to read handheld micrometer
- Able to stand/walk for seven hours of an eight-hour shift
- Able to work overhead or in an awkward position on a frequent basis
- Ability to climb ladders/steps safely and without assistance
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and/or up to 100 pounds with assistance occasionally
- Ability to push/pull loads in excess of 110 pounds occasionally
- Hearing sufficient to recognize and respond to shouted warnings, alarms, and horns on forklifts
- Able to use and work well with standard hand tools
- Vision of 20/40 or better and peripheral vision of 70 degrees or greater and ability to read 10-12 point font at a distance of 12-18 inches
- Ability to work in a dusty/smoky environment on an intermittent basis
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and direct employees
- Gauge sheet thickness
- Take readings and store to Colori5 database
- Enter production info into WebEFF
