Job Description

• Start-up, control, monitoring, and shut-down of a multiple Extruder sheet line
• Efficiently perform color and/or mold change
• Access the on-line schedule in JDE and verify the Extrusion equipment and material system is properly set up for the next production job
• Properly hook up material system and blenders to multiple Extruders and verify resins, colorants, regrind, and/or additives are being properly dispensed
• Safely break down, clean, and re-assemble Extrusion equipment
• Safely break down, clean, and re-assemble Grinding equipment
• Verify good sheet quality through correct gauge control, width, color, and visual appearance
• Make decisions regarding sheet quality
• Operate and set up NDC system to assist with proper gauge control
• Use Colori5 color check system to verify sheet is within specification
• Use ISRA vision system to monitor sheet for quality defects
• Operate turret winder system
• Communicate with the proper departments regarding maintenance on the Extrusion and Material Handling equipment
• Monitor Laminate Extrusion Assistants in department
• Effectively communicate with all Extrusion shifts
• Assist with color matches and/or material samples
• Record shift production in WebEff
  
  

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED equivalent
• Prior Sheet Extrusion experience preferred
• Exceptional organizational and communication skills with ability to work independently
• Ability to communicate and work well with other Laminate Extrusion Technicians, and Assistants
• Ability to lead people in a positive manner
• Must become fork truck certified with ability to drive safely and accurately
• Must become LOTO certified
• Able to follow GMP regulations
• Ability to read handheld micrometer
• Able to stand/walk for seven hours of an eight-hour shift
• Able to work overhead or in an awkward position on a frequent basis
• Ability to climb ladders/steps safely and without assistance
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and/or up to 100 pounds with assistance occasionally
• Ability to push/pull loads in excess of 110 pounds occasionally
• Hearing sufficient to recognize and respond to shouted warnings, alarms, and horns on forklifts
• Able to use and work well with standard hand tools
• Vision of 20/40 or better and peripheral vision of 70 degrees or greater and ability to read 10-12 point font at a distance of 12-18 inches
• Ability to work in a dusty/smoky environment on an intermittent basis
• Proven ability to lead, motivate, and direct employees
