Primary Function:
Monitors quality of in-process and finished products and reports non-conformities to Quality Manager and/or shift supervisor
Essential Functions:
- Tests film for breaks/defects and cling ensuring film is within order specifications.
- Tests and reworks return product as necessary.
- Tests and monitors R&D projects and tracks results.
- Verifies that all production orders have correct resin, additives and add-ins.
- Checks operators’ product quality and verifies extrusion report continuously throughout shift.
- Responsible for placing defective product on hold until a determination can be made.
- Routinely inspects production area for safety hazards and/or incorrect manufacturing processes and procedures.
Essential Physical Requirements:
Sitting to prepare reports and use computer equipment for approximately 50% of workday.
Walking to inspect facility including raw materials, work-in-process and finished goods and overall manufacturing and warehouse operations for as much as 100% of workday..
The position is required to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally (less than 1/3 of time); and/or up to 40 pounds of force regularly (more than 2/3 of the total time).
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.
Experience:
Six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Special Skills:
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and order forms or checklists
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively with co-workers or groups of co-workers, supervisors or others within the company
- Ability to apply basic concepts of algebra and geometry
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Basic computer/software knowledge of spreadsheets, word processing and databases
- Basic use of hand tools and measuring equipment such as micrometers and tape measures
- Basic operation of various test equipment
- Must operate forklift and be able to obtain license
