Instructional Aide (5.5 hours per day)

Summary
Cedar Hill Elementary School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Instructional Aide to support teachers and enhance the educational experience of our students. This part-time position requires a commitment of 5.5 hours per day, providing assistance in classroom activities, fostering a positive learning environment, and helping students achieve their academic goals. The ideal candidate will be a team player, passionate about education, and capable of working effectively with students of varying abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers in preparing instructional materials and classroom activities.
• Provide direct support to students during lessons, ensuring understanding and engagement.
• Monitor and supervise students during classroom activities, lunch, and recess.
• Help maintain a clean and organized classroom environment.
• Support students with special needs by implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) as directed.
• Assist in assessing student progress and reporting observations to the teacher.
• Foster positive relationships with students, encouraging their social and emotional development.
• Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities as required.
• Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to create a supportive learning environment.

Requirements

• NJ Substitute Certification or NJ Teaching certification required.
• Previous experience working with children in an educational setting preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting student learning.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with educational technology.
• Must pass background checks and comply with school district policies.
• Availability to work 5.5 hours per day, with flexibility to accommodate school events and activities.
