Overview:
Our client is a leading digital health and medical media organization that provides trusted clinical information, education, and insights to healthcare professionals worldwide. This role sits within the editorial and insights team, focusing on translating complex data, survey findings, and AI-driven analyses into compelling, high-impact content for a medical audience.
The Executive Editor, Insights will lead the development of data-driven editorial products, including flagship industry reports and emerging AI-powered content initiatives. This individual will work cross-functionally with research, analytics, and AI teams to uncover meaningful trends and ensure that all published insights are accurate, engaging, and methodologically sound. This is a highly strategic and hands-on role ideal for a data-savvy editor with a strong background in journalism, analytics, and emerging technologies.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and execution of data-driven editorial content, including reports and insights-focused series.
- Partner with research, analytics, and AI teams to design, interpret, and refine surveys, studies, and predictive analyses.
- Analyze quantitative data and AI-generated outputs to identify trends, correlations, and actionable insights.
- Translate complex data findings into clear, compelling, and credible editorial content for healthcare professionals.
- Oversee the creation of data visualizations, infographics, dashboards, and interactive content in collaboration with design teams.
- Ensure accuracy, transparency, and methodological integrity across all survey data, analyses, and AI-driven outputs.
- Develop frameworks for tracking and analyzing trends across specialties, audiences, and timeframes.
- Write and edit features that contextualize data within broader clinical, economic, and industry narratives.
- Mentor editorial staff on best practices for interpreting and applying data and AI insights.
- Serve as a liaison between editorial, data science, AI, and business intelligence teams.
- Explore and implement new multimedia and AI-enhanced storytelling formats.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in health, science, or business journalism.
- At least 4 years of experience in data journalism or data-driven storytelling.
- At least 1 year of experience using AI tools or applications in content creation.
- Strong proficiency in Excel, Google Sheets, and data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms.
- Experience working with databases such as MySQL.
- Strong understanding of statistical and analytical concepts including sampling, regression, and data modeling.
- Proven ability to interpret survey data and translate findings into editorial insights.
- Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills for a professional audience.
- Strong project management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced college degree in journalism, data science, statistics, AI, public health, or related field.
- Experience producing or editing large-scale reports or data-driven editorial products.
- Background in healthcare, medical publishing, or clinical content strongly preferred.
- Experience with multimedia storytelling formats including interactive graphics, video, or data dashboards.
- Familiarity with machine learning concepts and AI-driven analytics.
- Ability to mentor and lead editorial teams in a fast-paced, data-centric environment.
- Strong interest in emerging technologies and their application in journalism and healthcare insights.
