We are a growing mid-sized law firm seeking a Human Resources Generalist to support our attorneys and professional staff across multiple practice areas. This is a key role within the organization, offering the opportunity to serve as both a strategic partner and hands-on HR professional in a collaborative, professional services environment.

What You'll Do
Employee Relations & HR Operations
- Serve as a trusted resource for employee questions related to policies, benefits, and workplace matters
- Advise managers and leadership on performance, employee relations, and disciplinary actions
- Maintain accurate and confidential personnel records
- Support employee engagement, retention, and professional development initiatives
Recruitment & Onboarding
- Manage full-cycle recruitment for attorneys, paralegals, and administrative staff
- Draft job postings, screen candidates, and coordinate interviews
- Oversee onboarding processes including offer letters, background checks, and orientation
- Partner with leadership on workforce planning and succession strategies
Compliance & Policy Management
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
- Maintain and update HR policies and the employee handbook
- Support workplace investigations and compliance-related matters
- Administer leave programs (FMLA, ADA, workers' compensation, and state-specific leaves)
Benefits & Payroll Support
- Administer employee benefits programs (health, dental, vision, retirement)
- Serve as liaison with benefits providers and vendors
- Assist with payroll processing and audits in collaboration with Finance
- Coordinate open enrollment and monitor benefits utilization
Performance & Development
- Coordinate performance review processes
- Support training initiatives, continuing education (CLE), and staff development
- Partner with managers on goal setting, coaching, and feedback
What You Bring
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 4–7 years of progressive HR experience
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
- Experience in a professional services or legal environment preferred
- Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion
