Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and passionate EEC Certified Toddler/Preschool Teacher, to join our growing early childhood education team for the summer. Hours are Monday - Friday 8am-5pm until late August, with the potential for long term employment.
In this role, you will implement classroom activities, develop engaging curriculum, and support the developmental needs of toddlers and preschoolers. Your enthusiasm and expertise will inspire young learners and contribute to a nurturing environment that promotes growth, curiosity, and joy. Candidate must hold current Teacher Certification from the Department of Early Education and Care, to be eligible.
Duties
- Implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans tailored to toddler and preschool age groups, incorporating elements of literacy education, physical activity, and social-emotional learning
- Lead daily classroom activities that foster curiosity, independence, and positive behavior management
- Collaborate with colleagues to curate a curriculum that aligns with early childhood education standards and best practices
- Support children’s emotional well-being by creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding children’s progress, milestones, and any concerns
- Support administrative needs of the classroom related to children’s development, attendance, and assessments for program compliance and reporting
Skills
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and early intervention strategies
- Proven experience in teaching and caregiving, lesson planning, and curriculum implementation for infants, toddlers or preschoolers
- Expertise in behavior management techniques suitable for young children
- Familiarity with special education needs and inclusive teaching practices
- Excellent communication skills to engage with children, parents, staff, and community partners
- Knowledge of childcare regulations, daycare standards, and child welfare practices
Requirements:
Must have valid EEC Toddler/Preschool Teacher Certification. CPR and First aid will be required if not already current.
