Berkshire Humane Society’s nonprofit Wellness Clinic is growing our team and maybe you can help. We have an immediate opening for a full- or part-time Veterinary Assistant to join our amazing team, working alongside others who love cats and dogs. We seek an energetic team player to help with tasks such as working with cats and dogs, talking to clients about pet care and working in a fast-paced, creative environment. Prior animal experience preferred. Below are some of the fulfilling tasks and abilities required for the position.
Tasks
- Working beside our veterinarians and clients during appointments
- Communicating with clients about their pets for appointments
- Preparing medications/scripts for pets
- Triaging phone calls
- Helping administer vaccines and restraining animals for blood draws
- Lifting up to 50 pounds
- Standing for long periods of time
Other requirements
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to multitask
- Team player eager to learn
The hourly rate for this position starts at $20 and may be greater for highly qualified or experienced candidates. Workdays include Saturdays, but no Sundays or emergency after-hours.
