What are the responsibilities and job description for the Real Estate Agent - Company Leads Provided, No Cold Calling position at Berkshire Hathaway Home Services, J Douglas Properties | The Edrington Team?
If you have a real estate license and you're not making a living with it, or thinking of getting a license, this is for you.
Maybe you're six weeks out of licensing class with no idea where your first client comes from.
Maybe you're two years in, closing four or five deals a year, quietly wondering whether you made a mistake.
Maybe you're at a brokerage right now that handed you a login, a desk fee, and a good luck.
It's the same problem in all three cases. Nobody gave you business, and nobody taught you how to get it. That is not a talent problem. It is an environment problem, and it is fixable.
Who we are
The Edrington Team at Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices J Douglas Properties. The #1 real estate team in Chattanooga and North Georgia for eight years running, #1 rated team in Tennessee by RealTrends, and over $1.5 billion in closed volume. Offices in Chattanooga and Knoxville.
Let's talk about income honestly, because most real estate job ads don't
The national median gross income for a real estate agent with under two years of experience is about $8,100 a year (and that's not a typo). That's NAR's own number, and it is the figure nobody puts in a job posting.
That number is what happens when someone is handed a license and told to go find business. It is not a reflection of the job. It's a reflection of being left alone to do it.
Here's how it actually works on our team. You receive company-provided leads; real buyers and sellers, routed to you, at no cost to you, from Zillow.com, Realtor.com, Homes.com, AgentFinder, Google Ads, and our Smart Sign program. Working those leads, our newer agents last year grossed an average of $82,750, up to $109,651. Splits are structured to build early momentum, and go up to 100% on business you generate yourself.
Ask us in the interview and we will show you the real numbers from the last several agents we onboarded. We would rather you know exactly what you're walking into than be sold a number you'll never see.
What you get
- Leads, provided. Our agents receive an average of 30 leads a month. We have it. You'll work it. No cold calling your way to a first deal, no buying leads out of pocket, no working your friends list alone.
- A certification program before you touch a client. Contracts, prospecting, buyer consultations, listing presentations, technology, shadowing senior agents. You will know what to say when you're sitting across from someone.
- A dedicated mentor through your first six closings. Six months of live coaching calls, deal reviews, and negotiation support on your actual transactions, not a webinar library.
- CRM and marketing platform, built and paid for before you get here.
- Coaching that never stops. Our top producers are still in coaching. So is everyone else.
- 14,000 square feet on Chattanooga's North Shore. Steps from Coolidge Park and the Walnut Street Bridge, finished like a boutique hotel — conference rooms you can bring a seller into, and a rooftop over the Tennessee River to work from. Most new agents work from their car and meet clients at a coffee shop, and the isolation is what ends more careers than the commission math. You'll walk into a room full of people doing this job beside you. Some brokerages give you a login. We have a front door.
