The Administrative Assistant provides critical administrative and operational support for Berkshire County Head Start. This role manages front office duties, coordinates communication, supports organizational functions, and helps create an inclusive, family-centered environment.

Requirements:Key Responsibilities
Operational & Administrative Support

Answer main office phone lines and greet families and visitors.

Manage secure building entry and coordinate child pick-up/drop-off at the Meadow Lane building.

Sort and distribute mail.

Assist with clerical functions including copying, filing, scanning, laminating, and document preparation.

Support purchasing and supply ordering; coordinate purchase orders with the Finance Department.

Accept and coordinate deliveries with outside vendors.

Assist with organizational events and internal team needs.

Schedule and coordinate gym usage with the church.
- Carry out other tasks as assigned by the Executive Coordinator.
Required Qualifications
-
High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in an administrative support role.
Preferred Qualifications

Some college coursework or an Associate’s degree in business administration, office applications, communications, or a related field.
- Experience working in a community organization serving children and families.
- Bi-lingual in Spanish
