What are the responsibilities and job description for the Central Maintenance - Skilled Plumber position at Berkeley Heights Public Schools?
Reports To
The Maintenance employee receives daily direction from the school Maintenance Supervisor.
In the absence of the Maintenance Supervisor the employee will receive direction from the
Supervisor of Building and Grounds, and/or the Business Administrator/Board Secretary.

The Maintenance employee is responsible for the overall operation of the school building and grounds.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Some experience as a school custodian, or the equivalent in custodial service at other institutions and firms.
- Some experience with maintenance services, mechanical repairs, electrical, plumbing, carpentry and landscaping
- Demonstrate knowledge and expertise in the basic techniques of custodial service.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
- Certificate of good health by school doctor.
- Ability to read basic operating instructions and write reports.
- Ability to communicate with others.
- Demonstrate aptitude for completion of assigned tasks.
- Black Seal license (One-year time allowance).
- Valid NJ Drivers License
