TECHNOLOGY SYSTEMS SPECIALIST
POSITION: Technology Systems Specialists (Itinerant)
RESPONSIBILITY: Responsible for providing technology support, device and platform management, basic hardware and software troubleshooting, and support of the educational and administrative goals of Berkeley County Schools.
ACCOUNTABLE TO: Executive Director of Information Technology
SALARY: Berkeley County Schools’ Teacher Pay scale with years of experience and degree level and coordinator index supplement
EMPLOYMENT TERM: 240 Days (Flex)
QUALIFICATIONS: 1.) Bachelor’s Degree required
2.) Possession or eligibility to obtain WVDE Technology Systems Specialist (TSS) certification within one year
3.) Education and Technology background preferred
4.) Excellent communication skills
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Maintains a thorough knowledge of the organization and adheres to all organizational standards
· Manages and maintains Windows, Microsoft Office Suite, Apple, Android, Google environments
· User account management including but not limited to resetting passwords; managing e-mail accounts (Active Directory, Office365)
· Assists team with device maintenance, repair and inventory as needed
· Assists staff in understanding and using technology; conducts regular staff technology presentations and training; assists with technology for administrative meetings
· Presents and implements technological alternatives to streamline functions and improve productivity
· Complete and document repairs using current work order system
· Participates on committees, task forces, workgroups, technology meetings and user groups that may require occasional travel
· Respects and maintains confidentiality of organization, project, fiscal and personnel and student related information
· Maintains knowledge on current technology by reading technology periodicals and evaluating new technologies
· Provides support for current learning management system and student information system
· Provides support for current filtering and student safety platforms
· Updates school websites and serves as school webmaster
· Supports audio/visual equipment in classrooms, digital signage, conference areas, auditoriums, library media centers, etc.
· Provides administrative meetings and events support, potentially occurring outside regular workday
· Assists with school messaging, including NTouch
· Ability to learn, support, and deliver professional development on county implemented learning platforms
· The ability to work as part of a team
· Assists in other duties as needed and directed

To perform this job successfully the following technology proficiencies and platform knowledge will be required: 1to1Plus, Microsoft Office Suite, Office365, Webtop, Schoology, Intune, Google Admin, Linewize, Classwize, Apple Classroom, Apple School Manager, Apptegy, NTouch, MyVRSpot Adobe suite, GoGuardian, Clever, Chrome OS, iOS, Android OS, Mac OS, Nutrislice, Identimetrics, Verkada, WVEIS/WOW, WVEIS 2.0, and filtering platforms. To perform this job successfully candidates must also posses a willingness to learn new platforms and systems as implemented to support Berkeley County Schools’ initiatives.

· Ability to read, analyze, interpret, and understand general information, technical procedures, or governmental regulations and simplify for non-technical staff
· Ability to write reports and procedure manuals
· Ability to develop and deliver professional development to staff members of all levels of technical ability
MATHEMATICAL AND KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
· Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as length, distance, area, and circumference as they relate to the planning, installation and troubleshooting of computer networking
· Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
REASONING AND OTHER SKILLS/ABILITIES:
· Ability to define root problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
· Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
· Ability to understand and simplify complex and ambiguous issues, and develop a plan for resolution
· Ability to curate relationships with contractors, sales teams, and industry professionals as a means of additional resources
